Tom Sr

I've had a rather interesting journey in my life. I grew up an only child of Stanley and Anna Weber in Tiffin, Ohio. I graduated from St. Mary's Grammar School and Calvert High in Tiffin. I then went to the University of Notre Dame where I graduated with a BS degree in Chemistry in 1966. I then went to graduate school at The Johns Hopkins University. I received a PhD from there in Chemical Physics in 1970.

After graduate school I worked at Bell Telephone Laboratories as a research scientist from 1970-1987. I had a great career and really enjoyed research, but in 1987 I decided to try something different. So I went to the National Science Foundation as a Program Director in Chemistry.

Well like many people who go to Washington, I caught Potomac Fever and stayed. While at NSF, I was the Division Director for Advanced Scientific Computing, the Director of Information Systems, the Deputy Director for the Mathematical and Physical Sciences Directorate, Division Director of Materials Research and the Director of the Office of International Activities.

I plan to fill in more of the above later.

Cody Harris

I met Cody in a bar when I was drunk and so was he. We fell in love. Unfortunately Cody was HIV+ and refused to go on the medicines. Our time together was short, but I have to say if was a wonderful trip.

Like me, Cody was an addict. He spent his life fighting the demons. Unfortunately his fight with the demons of addiction ended on June 2, 2002.

Cody was a very special person. And all who knew him realized that a very wonderful spirit left this world. When he died, his father composed a song in his memory. I used the song in the little movie that I made to commemorate his life. Below is that video. I hope you enjoy it.

I made another movie after going to a Caron retreat in remembrance of Cody. Hope you enjoy it.
